Did I miss Thanksgiving?

I am wondering if I missed Thanksgiving this year because I see lots of Christmas decorations already going up ~ even the Christmas tree! Several of our neighbors have put up their Christmas lights and decorations, the stores already have all their Christmas items out. When did decorating for Christmas come before Thanksgiving? I clearly remember using Thanksgiving, or rather, the day after as the marker to pull down all the fall/Thanksgiving decorations and put up the Christmas decorations. So, I have to wonder, did I miss Thanksgiving? Is Christmas coming early :o) and that is why everyone is rushing to put up Christmas stuff. Are we skipping Thanksgiving this year?

I cannot explain the trees going up, but I think people were just taking advantage of the awesome weather for putting up lights. We couldn't even get ours up last year because our roof was covered in snow from Thanksgiving and on. So no, you didn't miss it, but yes stores had stuff stocked before Halloween! Ugh.

Can we???????????

We have our lights up BUT NOT ON! We put them up because last year it snowed before we got them up and with a north facing house we couldn't get them up because of ice...the girls were disapointed.

We are north facing too. Boohoo. I wanted to add that I was on my way back from Costco last night and saw several neighbors with lights up and on. It did make me laugh. But hey, my socks had reindeer on them (under my boots).
