Our first Rockies game as a family of four

Yesterday we went to our first Colorado Rockies game with Ben! Cailey has already been to a couple, so she is an old pro already (a pro at asking for every vending snack possible!) We decided to take the Light Rail ~ for the "experience". Not a good idea. The train ended up taking 45 minutes (one way) and cost us more than if we had just parked near the stadium. Oh, well ~ lesson learned. The kids got to ride the train and we can say we had the experience.

The game was fun ~ as fun as it gets with a toddler and 6 year old :o). We sat in the seats located under the jumbo-tron in left field. We even saw people we know - "hello Romeros!" Ben, being the social bee that he is, made friends with the people around us. No joke ~ by the 7th/8th inning, the folks sitting around us were giving Ben high fives when the Rockies made a good play (you can insert jokes about the Rockies making very few good plays here :o). Our only problem is that the game started at 1:05p and that is in the middle of Ben's nap. He didn't sleep on the train and he didn't sleep on the way home. So, by the time we got home at 5:45ish...he was exhausted and ready for bed. It was a very warm day and we have figured out that our kids do not like to be heat. Cailey was happy as long as she was eating junk ~ the kids got to enjoy the cotton candy, the lemon aid, the cinnamon pretzels, the Coca-Cola, the Skittles...wait, did the Rockies win or lose...what was the final score...I don't think I saw much of the game!!! :o) I was a little bummed because I am still recovering from food poisoning and I wasn't feeling up to eating the nachos, hotdogs, and beer...that's the best part of a baseball game ~ total bummer! And anyone that knows me, knows I must be REALLY feeling sick if I didn't eat the nachos and hotdogs!!! All in all, we had a really good time ~ but I think we will wait until next season to go again with Ben :o) More pictures...
