A good laugh

Today I started to prepare the flower beds and flower pots for flowers. We have started a tradition of getting flowers on Mother's Day and then planting them in the big pots on the front porch. Ben was home today, so he was with me when I was digging in the flower bed.  We discovered worms and rollie-polies today.  Ben was fascinated with the worms, although he didn't want to touch them.  We put some in a bucket so that we could transplant them to the flower pots on the front porch.  Ben carried the bucket for quite some time ~ determined to keep an eye on those worms :o).  He also took to talking to the rollie-polies... "Hello, little fellow" was often heard when we unearthed one of the little buggers.  I am so happy the weather is getting nice because Ben loves to be outside.  Now that he has discovered bugs and such, there will be no end to the outside entertainment :o)

Tonight Ben was on fire with his one-man-show ~ he has so much personality. He was making all of us laugh so hard. He has taken to imitating Scott (oh my!).  If you know Scott, you know how scary that comment can be (HA HA HA).  Tonight Ben grabbed Scott and said, "Listen here, dude!" and then proceeded to give us an evening of entertainment by mimicking Scott, trying to learn to whistle (to the tune of Baa Baa Black Sheep), sing, eat corn on the cob, tickle, wrestle, hide from Cailey...it was an eventful evening. We also had a short little thunder storm and Ben was "sceard" and insisted that he was supposed to go to bed when it rained (I have no idea where that is coming from) ~ it was really cute. He talked about going to Arizona to swim ~ he is very excited.  When I told him that Matt and Zach might be there he said, "No, that's not a big idea" Huh?  I finally figured out he was trying to say it's not a good idea.  After I pressed him about why it wasn't a good idea, he said that they needed their mommy there ~ how cute!  I told him that Auntie would be there, too.  Then he cheered!!!

Our rent-a-cat loves Cailey.  The cat follows Cailey all over the house ~ right at Cailey's heels like a dog.  She sleeps with Cailey most nights and waits for her in the front window most of the day while Cailey is at school.  The other day, the cat followed Cailey to the bus stop and let Cailey hold her until the bus came.  I was watching from the window and I was sure the cat was going to try to get on the bus with her.  The cat even sleeps in Cailey's doll stroller and will let Cailey stroller her around the house.  Too weird.  Unfortunately, we are not keeping the cat.  The cat is going back home with grandma in a few weeks.  The cat also loves the hamster and Cailey gets really stressed out about the cat getting to the hamster. We have to keep the hamster locked in the office and Cailey checks the office door (to make sure it's closed) a dozen times a day.  So, the cat goes home.  Maybe we will get another cat in a few years.
