Is this really May?

Happy May ~ I think. This is the first day of May and we are getting hit with...a snow storm? Yep, it's true and this is spring in Colorado! Yesterday was in the low 80s!! We actually got a lot more snow this morning but by the time I took this picture, it had already mostly melted. This is just craziness :o)

Today I am busy with trying to get Cailey registered for all her summer activities. She gets SO bored during the summer and, since I am working, I have to find things to keep her busy that do not require too much of my involvement. We are gearing up for the end of another school year (thank goodness!) and then a busy summer. Cailey has a dance recital on June 21 and then she is done with dance until August. We are planning a lengthy trip to Phoenix in June/July, we have her scheduled to go to Girl Scout Camp in late July, she starts ice skating lessons in July, and she is going to take golf lessons twice a week for 6 weeks (thanks Terra!!!). She starts school on August 11 ~ her birthday. She is actually excited about this because she gets to celebrate her birthday at school (it usually falls during summer break). She will start dance again in August. She wants to do Tap (Tap 3 already!! Yikes) and Jazz. Her dance teacher and I agree that Cailey will probably enjoy the jazz class a lot. I think she will enjoy it so much and will find herself with a new passion. She also wants to join the competitive dance team ~ I think we will do that this next season...she needs some experience being on a team :o)
Another sweet Cailey thing. Yesterday, she came home from school really sad and upset for her friend. Apparently, Cailey's friend, Marin, lost a new "special" bracelet at recess. Marin was crying because it was a new bracelet with horse charms on it and Marin "loves" horses. Cailey said that she spent, along with a few other kids, the whole next recess looking for the bracelet. They found the bracelet, but not the horse charms. Cailey was so upset that Marin was crying over the lost bracelet ~ she felt really bad for her friend. Cailey wanted to help Marin feel better and thought replacing the bracelet would work. She asked if we could go to Target to buy Marin a new bracelet. I thought that was really sweet and compassionate so I agreed we could go to Target and look. Cailey found the bracelets at Target but couldn't find one with horse charms ~ only kittens and puppies. The little bracelet was $4 and I thought it was a really nice gesture for Cailey to come up with on her own. I let Cailey get one for Marin (kittens) and one for herself (kittens, also), so she could have one that matches Marin's. I am patiently waiting for this afternoon to see if Marin appreciated the gesture.

Too cute: Ben is sitting next to me with his computer (an old laptop we let the kids play with) and he is pretending to "work" just like Mommy :o) He is clicking his fingers over the keyboard rapidly "typing" away. He's probably getting just as much work done as Mommy, too (HA HA) :o) :o)
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MOM AND RICH!!! 22 YEARS AND COUNTING!!
